Eligibility

Students seeking admissions at GCM are required to secure minimum 2.8 GPA in Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

Entrance Test

Students must appear for the entrance test as scheduled by the college. The test comprises questions related to Mathematics, English, Nepali and General Knowledge.

Interview

Each candidate on getting through entrance test is called for interview.

Final result for Admission

The final result of successful candidates for admission is published on the basis of weighted average of the entrance test, interview and SEE marks.

Admission Criteria

ELIGIBILITY

Students seeking admissions at GSS are required to pose education profile: SEE or equivalent degree with minimum Grade ‘B’ (GPA 2.8 above) in aggregate.

 

ENTRANCE TEST

Students must appear in an entrance test as scheduled by GSS. The test comprises objective questions from related subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English.

 

PSYCHOMETRIC TEST

To develop and strengthen intelligence (mixture of several abilities) of a student, GSS has introduced intelligence test (psychometric test) that comprises of self-rated questions. Students must appear in this test to assess their multiple intelligences so that school can shape them as per their areas of interest.

 

INTERVIEW

The successful candidates through entrance tests are called for an interview along with their guardians/ parents.

 

FINAL RESULT FOR ADMISSION

The final result of the candidates for admission is published on the basis of weighted average of the entrance test, interview and SEE score.

            ASSESSMENT

GSS assesses students learning by means of practical and theory tests designed within the scheme of National Examination Board, Nepal. In addition to the final examination from the board, GSS integrates many types of formal and informal assessment measures such as class tests, project activities for formative-assessment pertinent to evaluate student learning conceptualized as an act of problem-solving skill. Internal procedures are designed to train students for responding external exams successfully. The internal assessment and evaluation procedures consist of various measures e.g. one-unit test, two techno-lab tests, one class test in each term, and three terminal examinations. Securing 40% in each subject is mandatory. The final evaluation of students is carried out in the following criteria:

 I Terminal Examination— 20%

 II Terminal Examination— 20%

 III Terminal (Send-up Examination)— 40%

 Class and unit tests – 10%

 Techno-lab & Assignments— 10%

PRACTICAL EXAMINATION

Prior to final examination held annually, GSS students take upon practical exams for board results in the subjects; Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, and Computer Science as mandatory part of external exam. Students’ scores are endorsed in board examination controlled by National Education Board of Nepal.

NOTE:

• In case of repetition of scholarship to a single candidate under different criteria, single scholarship will be valid for highest value.

• Scholarship is subject to discontinuation in the next session if the recipient student is unable to maintain his/her academic position and also discipline of Global School of Science.

– belong to the particular community;

– have NEB recommendation letter;

– have highest marks among the applicants;

– submit the proof of economically poor.

International recognition

Cambridge International A Level has widespread international recognition as educational qualifications. This recognition is because:

 

Cambridge International A-Level qualifications are recognized by universities as equivalent in value to UK A Level;

 

meritorious grades at A-Level can result in one full year of advanced standing or credit at universities in the USA and Canada;

 

it is accepted as prioritized qualification for entrance by universities of European Union, on a par with the French Baccalaureate, the German Abitur, etc;

 

commendable A-Level grades are vital for admission to all the world’s major English-speaking universities;

 

A Level are rigorous programmes that encourage high academic standards; and,

 

A Level has a high profile amongst English medium international schools around the world.

 

Timeframe

The A-Level programme lasts two years. A-Level classes begin in June. The examination takes place twice a year (May/June Series and October/November series) after completion of the designated course. 

 

Eligibility for admission to A Level

Students who have taken the SEE/IGCSE/O level/ CBSE/IBMYP or equivalent at the time of admission can apply. The main requirement is academic ability to fulfill the rigors of this challenging programme. Each year Global College International uses a comprehensive evaluation system to select a highly motivated group of students to join the programme.

 

Entrance test

Students must appear in the entrance test as scheduled by Global College International. The test is designed to evaluate students aptitude and capability in subjects studied on previous level.

 

Interview

Each candidate after being successful in the entrance test is called for an interview.
